Preparation of socket
|
The slit has to be prepared with drilled holes that will be joined by means of either a rotary bone bur or scissors. This glenoid prosthesis has to be sealed. We must emphasise that it is difficult to seal this prosthesis under pressure as it tends to retract in front of lifter. It is a satisfactory way to exert a pressure and reduce a test humeral prosthesis, while cement is setting. It is recommended first to test the steadiness of sealing and not to be reluctant to take it up in case there is the slightest move of the implant in the bone. |
