Preparation of humerus in cold pathology

In cold pathology, it is suitable to proceed with an osteotomy of the epiphysis. Level and obliqueness of the cutting is given by the designed ancillary. Angle of bank of the prosthesis is 45° and cutting is made at the level which gives back to humerus its natural length and retroversion, once the prosthesis is placed. Section line is defined by a gauge sliding on a centro-medullar rod inserted by tenting on top of the head, exactly between cartilage and great tuberosity area.
