Preparation of humerus in cold pathology
|
This rod catheterizes the humerus on his whole length and the gauge, by sliding, is positioned on the front side of the cervix. Retroversion angle is obtained by lining up to the designed angle sight with forearm axle. Height is given by marks on bones defined on counterdrawings before surgery. We must insist on the importance of retroversion of this part. The anteversion of the glene ranging from 30 to 40°, retroversion of the humeral part must be equivalent so as to obtain a satisfactory congruence between the prosthesis and the glene at rest position. Retroversion angle of the section is given by the above mentioned gauge. Retroversion of the humeral rod can be checked on the rod carrier displaying direction signs on its plate, in addition to one being marked 0°, four different possible adjustments on side G (left) and D (right), each marked 15°, 25°, 35° and 45°. These direction signs must be Lengthened by a pin in the same axe. The pin is inserted in the designed hole and is lined up with the forearm, elbow bended by 90°. |
