Excision of prosthetic head and rod

Head extractor will be used in the following way :
- The extractor is leaning on the higher part of the humeral rod, right under the great tuberosity,
- The arm is supported to be kept steady,
- Then the extractor is hammered, and vibrations of several sharp blows lead to separating the humeral head.

Once the prosthetic head is removed, a sliding mass extractor is adjusted on the humeral rod by means of the designed threading on top of the humeral rod. It is necessary to take care that it is kept in the exact axle of the humeral prosthesis to remove.

Procedure of tuberosities osteosynthesis

Whenever the tuberosities are broken, it is suitable to reduce dislocation as much as possible and, with either a metal or unresorbing textile wire, to reinsert the prosthesis at the level of the external wing shaped metaphysis. This is performed through the two holes the prosthesis displays to ease the sound osteosynthesis of the tuberosity and thus an early re-education of the shoulder.
