Humeral sliding cup with clips
|
The humeral sliding cup is laid in cases when the natural glene is kept. Consequently
there is no need for fixing a glene, either with or without cement sealing, subjects that are
dealt with in this section :
Preparation of socket to of this note on fixing techniques. External diameter from 38 to 50 mm can meet every requirement. Internal diameter is limited to 22.2 mm. In that case, it is suitable to use an intermediary head instead of normal humeral heads such as the ones described in page Preparation of humerus in cold pathology. There is no need for hollowing the scapula but it is rather useful to keep the glenoid socket so as to ensure good functionning under soft friction. To make sure the sliding cup is properly fixed on both intermediary head and rod, we must operate as follows : - Remove ring from sliding cup with froceps, - Put ring on the rod collar, with its marked side towards humerus, - Assemble intermediary head and rod, - Position the sliding cup on the intermediary head, - Clip ring in the sliding cup with forceps. |
