The Kalisté total knee prosthesis is a resurfacing prosthesis.
The Femoral and tibial resections are independent. This design allows the
surgeons to begin with either the tibial satge or the femoral stage. It is mainly
based on intramedullary femoral alignment. Peroperative control of the alignment of
the femoral guide is performed with the help of extramedullary rods. A pangonogramme
allows the surgeon to calculate the anatomial axis of the femur and the mechanical axis of
the leg, in order to calculate the angle of femoral valgus. The resections (distal femoral
and tibial) are perpendicular to the mechanical axis of the leg. Tibial viewing is intramedullary,
if the entry point used is located at the level of the insertion of the anterior cruciate ligament
or external (tibia varum). Definition of the axes and estimation of the size of the implants are
determined thanks to x-rays templates at a 1.15. scale. ![]() |
