Insertion of the femoral prosthesis
|
The surgeon chooses the size and the side (left or right) of the femoral prosthesis. It should be pushed into the lower end of the femur, care being taken to maintain the best possible contact with the earlier bone resections. The femoral impactor is then positioned on the femoral condyles of the prosthesis. The prosthesis can be seated into its final position by means of a mallet. |
| Important : for a femoral prosthesis in the case the posterior cruciale ligament is spared, the femoral case initially assemblied together with the implant, hasto be removed. |

Insertion of the patellar prosthesis
|
The surgeon decides on the size and model of the patellar prosthesis desired. It is inserted by hand, until the anchoring plug is clipped into the hole, that has previously been made. The patellar forceps should be kept in place and the prosthesis is fully embedded. |
