Tibial section with centromedullary viewing
| The medullary rod, equippped with is viewing system is introduced into the tibial canal, then pushed in deeply by hand, to guarantee a good view. The technique for use of the section guide is then the same as for extra-medullary viewing. |
However the procedure is carried out, the use of control rods allows good positionning of the section guide to be confirmed. |
Tibial base
| Once the trial femoral prosthesis is in place, the trial tibial base, which best covers the resected tibial surface, is chosen. Then, in order to choose the best trial tibial insert, a 8 mm thick insert is first placed on the base. The knee is put into extension. The base should be positioned so that the contact of the trial femoral and tibial prostheses with the joint surface is perfect in extension. The tibia can be marked using the marker points located on the anterior surface of the tibial base, in order to achieve proper positioning of tibial plate. This is performed to check the good rotationnal alignment. |

Overall alignment of the knee can be checked with the external control rods fixed on the grip handle of the tibial plate. The insert and the trial femoral prosthesis are removed with the knee flexed. The fixing pins are placed into the two small holes located on the trial base, so as to stabilize its position. |
