The tibial time

The tibial preparation is perfored with the knee at 90° flexion, with the femoral trial component in place. Using one of the four tibial gauges, the contact surface of the futu- re tibial plate is defined as well as the resec- tion axis along the spinal process. This gauge is used to determine the best plate surface as well as the anterior-posterior resection axis on the spur mass. A mark is then made with the scalpel to define the future resection.
The knee is bent at 90°. The operator is facing the joint.

The antero-posterior resection and the verti- cal resection along the spinal process can be calculated using either intramedullary or extramedullary viewing.

The resection viewer is directed at 3° for the antero-posterior resection.
Once the cut viewer removed, we recom mend to leave in place the drilling wire in order to guide the further cutting : it provides a better view of the resection.
